New Forest Soaps 2008 - why natural soap?

We believe that people should know what chemicals they are eating and applying to their skin.

Our mission is to create products using ingredients whose effects we can understand.

Your skin is the largest organ in your body and covers a surface area of about two square metres. It keeps your insides safely covered and protects you from water loss and from ultra violet light and helps you to regulate your body temperature.

Our natural 'cold process' soap is handmade from saponified olive, palm* and coconut oils with added shea butter. We believe shea butter to be nature's best moisturiser which we use in all our soaps. It is extracted from the African karite tree, and is also known as 'Womens Gold'.

We have taken great care in the preparation of this site as we do our products. We do not use any detergents, artificial fragrances, synthetic colours or chemical preservatives in our soaps. However, everyone's skin is different and particularly sensitive skins may react differently to the products.

If you have very sensitive skin we would suggest testing for a few days on a small patch of skin.
